Karen Noble-Newman

"Deciding to seek therapy is a courageous step in the direction of growth." Karen

If you decide to seek therapy with me, you will find that I am thoughtful, candid, and supportive. I am a professional who does my job with a deep sense of compassion and expertise.

Therapeutic Approach

Meeting new clients, hearing their life stories, and witnessing their growth and change is a privilege and honor for me. In my practice, I provide clients a place to work through the issues that interfere with their ability to live a more purposeful and joyful life.

Therapeutic Specialties

I offer individual therapy to adolescents and adults especially women dealing with anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and childhood trauma.

I enjoy working with young women, helping them navigate the transitions and meet the demands of adulthood.

I work with parents and offer consultation, guidance, and practical advice related to effective child rearing and healthy parenting. I also see adults in couples counseling.

Additional Services

As an adjunct to my private practice, I teach social skills classes for children (Friendship Group) with my colleague Lisa Ann Mikulencak. I love working with groups of kids and helping them gain skills, confidence, and comfort with themselves and others.

About Karen

I grew up in Charlottesville, Virginia and graduated with a B.S. in Special Education from the University of Virginia in 1977. I have 27 years of experience working with families and children as a counselor and family advocate. In 2001, I obtained my Master's in Psychology from Antioch University Seattle.

I truly enjoy my job and love the spirit and energy of children and teens. I love working with adults of any age who are interested in living their best lives and finding the courage to push through life's hard moments. I believe in the resiliency of the human spirit and in one's capacity to grow and heal.

When not working, I garden, knit, cook, travel, and create and admire beauty. I have a fantastic sense of humor and a wonderful family that sustain me through life's ups and downs.
